Al-Anfal: 29

{Furqan} (a criterion):

  • Victory: Because it distinguishes between truth and falsehood, and between disbelief—by humiliating its faction—and Islam—by honoring its people. From this is His saying, the Exalted: {The day of the Criterion} (Al-Anfal: 41).
  • Clarity and Manifestation: That which makes your affair famous and spreads your reputation and influence across the regions of the earth. This is derived from the saying: "I spent the night doing such and such until the furqan (dawn) broke," meaning: until the dawn rose.
  • An Exit: A way out of doubts, a granting of success, and an expansion of the breasts (with guidance).
  • Distinction: A separation between you and others among the people of different religions, and a merit and distinction in this world and the Hereafter.

{And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.}
