ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ

And your companion is not [at all] mad.

At-Takwir: (22) And your companion is not mad

{And your companion}—meaning Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace—{is not mad}, as the disbelievers falsely accuse him.

This is sufficient evidence for you regarding the majesty of Gabriel’s status, his superiority over the angels, and the distinction of his rank alongside the best of mankind, Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Consider the comparison between the two mentions when He linked them together, and weigh His saying:

**{Indeed, it is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger, who possesses power and is secure with the Owner of the Throne, obeyed and trustworthy}** (81:19-21)

against His saying:

**{And your companion is not mad}** (81:22).

{And he has already seen him in the clear horizon. And he is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. And it is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]} (81:23-25).
