Tafsir of At-Tariq 86:15

{Indeed, they}—meaning the people of Mecca—{are planning a plan} by working to invalidate the command of God and extinguish the light of the Truth.

{And I am planning a plan} by drawing them in gradually and awaiting the appointed time I have set to exact retribution upon them.

{So grant respite to the disbelievers}—meaning: do not pray for their destruction, and do not be hasty regarding it.

{Grant them respite for a while}—meaning: a brief respite. The command was repeated using different wording to further reassure and encourage patience.
