ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ
Say, "Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait; indeed we, along with you, are waiting."
Tafsir
Verse range: 9:52
{ Except one of the two best outcomes } Except for one of the two consequences, each of which is the best of consequences: victory or martyrdom.
{ And we await for you } One of the two worst outcomes: either { that Allah should afflict you with a punishment from Himself }, which is a calamity from the sky, as it descended upon ‘Ad and Thamud, { or } with a punishment { at our hands }, which is being killed for your disbelief.
{ So wait } For us, regarding the consequences we have mentioned.
{ Indeed, we are with you, waiting } For what your consequence will be. Thus, it is inevitable that each of us will encounter what he awaits, and it will not pass him by.
{ Say, "Spend willingly or unwillingly; it will never be accepted from you. Indeed, you have been a defiantly disobedient people." }
