Tafsir
Verse range: 9:82
"So let them laugh a little and weep much..."
Its meaning is: They will laugh a little and weep much.
The word is expressed in the imperative form to signify that it is an inevitable decree that must occur and cannot be otherwise. It is narrated that the hypocrites will weep in the Fire for the duration of the life of this world; their tears will never cease, and they will never find the relief of sleep.
"If Allah returns you to a faction of them and they ask your permission to go out [to battle], then say, 'You will never go out with me, ever, and you will never fight an enemy with me. Indeed, you were satisfied with sitting the first time, so sit [now] with the stay-behinds.'"
