Tafsir
Verse range: 9:97
{The Bedouins} are the people of the desert.
{are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy} than the people of the cities, due to their coarseness, their harshness, their savagery, and their upbringing far from observing the scholars and knowing the Book and the Sunnah.
{and more likely not to know} and more deserving of ignorance regarding the limits of the religion and the laws and rulings that Allah has revealed. From this is his saying, peace be upon him:
"Indeed, coarseness and harshness are in the loud-voiced herdsmen."
{And Allah is All-Knowing} He knows the state of everyone, whether they are people of the tents (nomads) or people of the cities (settled).
{All-Wise} in what He inflicts upon their evildoers, their doers of good, their mistaken ones, and their correct ones, in terms of His punishment and His reward.
{And among the Bedouins are those who take what they spend as a loss and await turns of misfortune for you. Upon them is a turn of evil. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.}
{But among the Bedouins are those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and take what they spend as means of nearness to Allah and prayers of the Messenger. Unquestionably, it is a means of nearness for them. Allah will admit them into His mercy. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.}
