Is it permissible to make a bequest in favor of an heir?

It is absolutely forbidden to make a bequest in favor of a legal heir. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated, "Indeed, Allah has given everyone entitled to a right his right, and there is no bequest for an heir." This ruling is supported by the consensus derived from this clear statement.
