Primary text

The wealth of orphans must be guarded until they reach the age of marriage (the age of maturity for men and women). If awareness and sound judgment regarding the preservation of their wealth and the proper management of their livelihoods are perceived in them, then their property may be returned to them, based on the verse: "And test the orphans until they reach the age of marriage. Then if you perceive in them sound judgment, return to them their property" (Quran 4:6).
