What is the general condition for the validity of reconciliation among Muslims?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Settlement
Primary text
Reconciliation among Muslims is generally valid, provided that the reconciliation does not legalize what is prohibited (haram) or prohibit what is lawful (halal). The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, stated: "Reconciliation among Muslims is valid, except for a reconciliation that prohibits the lawful or permits the unlawful." This ruling is supported by the consensus of the Ummah regarding the types mentioned.
