What is the legal ruling on reconciliation between a husband and wife when discord is feared?

It is permissible for a wife fearing ill-will (nushuz) or aversion (i'rad) from her husband, and vice versa, to reconcile between themselves. Reconciliation is superior (khayr), as indicated by the Divine command: "And if a woman fears from her husband ill-will or aversion, there is no blame upon them to reconcile between them amicably, and reconciliation is better" (Quran 4:128).
