Hadith 4:3
8869. Abd al-A’la ibn Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Ma’mar, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to encourage the standing (in prayer) of Ramadan without making it a firm obligation. And he said: "When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained."
حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن عبد الأعلى عن معمر عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة قال أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يرغب في قيام رمضان من غير عزيمة وقال إذا دخل رمضان فتحت ابواب الجنة وغلقت ابواب الجحيم وسلسلت الشياطين
