Hadith 29:1
Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ammarah, from Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad, that Habib ibn Zayd was killed by Musaylimah. When the day of al-Yamamah arrived, his brother Abdullah ibn Zayd and his mother went out. His mother had vowed that no water for washing would touch her until Musaylimah was killed, so they both went out among the people. He said: Abdullah ibn Zayd said, "I made it my mission, so I charged at him and stabbed him with the spear, and he walked toward me while on the spear." He said: "A man from the people called out to me, 'Pull the spear back.' He said: 'He did not understand.' He said: 'So he called out to him, "Drop the spear from your hand." He said: 'So he dropped the spear from his hand, and Musaylimah was overcome.'"
حدثنا عبد الله بن إدريس عن محمد بن عمارة عن أبي بكر بن محمد أن حبيب بن زيد قتله مسيلمة فلما كان يوم اليمامة خرج أخوه عبد الله بن زيد وأمه وكانت أمه نذرت أن لا يصيبها غسل حتى يقتل مسيلمة فخرجا في الناس قال قال عبد الله بن زيد جعلته من شأني فحملت عليه فطعنت بالرمح فمشى إلي في الرمح قال وناداني رجل من الناس أن أخره الرمح قال فلم يفهم قال فناداه أن ألق الرمح من يدك قال فألقى الرمح من يده وغلب مسيلمة
