Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 184:1

Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, Yunus ibn Ubayd informed us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, from al-Ashajj—the Ashajj of Abd al-Qays—who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me: "Indeed, there are two characteristics in you that Allah loves." I said: "What are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Forbearance and modesty," or "Forbearance and deliberation." I said: "Were they in me from old, or recently?" He said: "Rather, from old." I said: "Praise be to Allah who fashioned me upon two characteristics that He loves."
