Hadith 60:3
Ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Badr narrated to us, ‘Abbad ibn Musa al-Qurashi narrated to me, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from ‘Abd al-Malik Abu Ja‘far, from Abu Nadrah, from Sa‘d ibn al-Atwal: That his father died and left behind three hundred dirhams, a family, and a debt. I wanted to spend [the money] on his family, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "Your father is detained by his debt, so pay it off on his behalf." I said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! I have paid off [everything] on his behalf, except for a woman who claimed two dinars, and she has no evidence." He said: "Give it to her, for she is truthful." So I gave it to her.
