Musnad Ahmad 1154:1

Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, he said: Zakariya ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, from Firas, from al-Sha'bi, from Masruq, from 'Aishah, who said: Fatimah came walking, as if her walk was the walk of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: "Welcome, my daughter." Then he seated her to his right or to his left. Then he whispered a hadith to her, and she wept. I said to her: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, singled you out with his speech, and then you weep?" Then he whispered a hadith to her, and she laughed. I said: "I have never seen joy closer to sadness than today." I asked her about what he said, and she said: "I would not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." Until when the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was taken, I asked her, and she said: "He whispered to me and said: 'Indeed, Gabriel, peace be upon him, used to review the Quran with me once every year, and he reviewed it with me twice this year. I do not see it except that my time has approached, and you are the first of my household to follow me, and I am an excellent predecessor for you.' So I wept for that." Then he said: "Are you not pleased that you should be the leader of the women of this nation, or the women of the believers?" She said: "So I laughed for that."
