Hadith 856:1
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, al-Aswad ibn Shayban informed us, from Abu Nawfal ibn Abi Aqrab, from his father, that he asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about fasting. He said: "Fast one day of every month." He asked him for more, and said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, I find myself strong, so increase me." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I find myself strong, I find myself strong," and he barely increased him. He asked him for more, and he said: "Fast two days of every month." He said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, I find myself strong." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I find myself strong, I find myself strong," and he barely increased him. When he persisted with him, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Fast three days of every month."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا الأسود بن شيبان، عن أبي نوفل بن أبي عقرب، عن أبيه، أنه سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الصوم، فقال: " صم يوما من كل شهر "، فاستزاده، فقال: بأبي وأمي، إني أجدني أقوى فزدني، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إني أجدني قويا، إني أجدني قويا "، فما كاد أن يزيده، فاستزاده، فقال: " صم يومين من كل شهر "، قال: بأبي أنت وأمي يا رسول الله، إني أجدني قويا، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إني أجدني قويا، إني أجدني قويا "، فما كاد أن يزيده، فلما ألحم عليه، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " صم ثلاثة أيام من كل شهر "
