Hadith of Abu Kabshah al-Anmari (RA)
حديث أبي كبشة الأنماري
Hadith 596:0
Narrated Abu Kabsha al-Anmari: He heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "I shall swear to three things, and I shall tell you a narration, so memorize it." He said: "The wealth of a servant does not decrease from charity, and no servant is wronged with an injustice and he bears it with patience except that Allah increases him in honor, and no servant opens a door of begging except that Allah opens for him a door of poverty." He said: "And I shall tell you a narration, so memorize it." He said: "The world is only for four types of servants: A servant whom Allah has provided with wealth and knowledge, so he fears his Lord regarding it, maintains ties of kinship with it, and knows that Allah has a right over it; this is the most excellent in status. And a servant whom Allah has provided with knowledge but has not provided with wealth, so he is sincere in his intention, saying: 'If I had wealth, I would have done the deeds of so-and-so.' So with his intention, his reward is the same as the other. And a servant whom Allah has provided with wealth but has not provided with knowledge, so he spends his wealth without knowledge, does not fear his Lord regarding it, does not maintain ties of kinship with it, and does not know that Allah has a right over it; this is the most evil in status. And a servant whom Allah has not provided with wealth nor knowledge, so he says: 'If I had wealth, I would have done the deeds of so-and-so.' So with his intention, his burden is the same as the other."
