Musnad Ahmad 596:1

Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Abu Kabshah al-Anmari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The likeness of this Ummah is like four people: A man whom Allah has given wealth and knowledge, so he acts with it regarding his wealth, spending it in its proper right. And a man whom Allah has given knowledge but has not given him wealth, so he says: 'If I had wealth like this one, I would act with it just as he acts.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'So they are equal in reward.' And a man whom Allah has given wealth but has not given him knowledge, so he blunders with it, spending it in other than its proper right. And a man whom Allah has not given wealth nor knowledge, so he says: 'If I had wealth like this one, I would act with it just as he acts.' The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'So they are equal in sin.'"
