حديث أبي شهم

Hadith 1003:2

Surayj narrated to us, Yazid ibn 'Ata' narrated to us, from Bayan ibn Bishr, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, from Abu Shahm, who said: He was an idle man. He said: A slave girl passed by me on one of the roads of Medina, and I reached out toward her flank. When the next day came, he said: The people came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to pledge allegiance to him. I came to him and stretched out my hand to pledge allegiance to him, but he withdrew his hand and said: "Are you the one from the 'jubaydhah' (the little grab)?" Meaning: "Are you not the one from the 'jubaydhah' yesterday?" He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, accept my pledge, for by Allah, I will never do it again." He said: "Then yes, in that case."

حدثنا سريج، حدثنا يزيد بن عطاء، عن بيان بن بشر، عن قيس بن أبي حازم، عن أبي شهم قال: كان رجلا بطالا قال: فمرت بي جارية في بعض طرق المدينة إذ هويت إلى كشحها، فلما كان الغد قال: فأتى الناس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يبايعونه فأتيته فبسطت يدي لأبايعه، فقبض يده وقال: " أجنك صاحب الجبيذة؟، يعني: أما إنك صاحب الجبيذة، أمس ". قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، بايعني فوالله لا أعود أبدا. قال: " فنعم إذا "
