Hadith 598:2
Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Marthad ibn Abdullah al-Yazani, from Daylam al-Himyari, who said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are in a cold land in which we perform strenuous work, and we make a drink from this wheat, by which we gain strength for our work and for the cold of our land." He said: "Does it intoxicate?" I said: "Yes." He said: "Then avoid it." He said: Then I came from before him and said the same thing to him. He said: "Does it intoxicate?" I said: "Yes." He said: "Then avoid it." I said: "The people will not abandon it." He said: "If they do not abandon it, then kill them."
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق، عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب، عن مرثد بن عبد الله اليزني، عن ديلم الحميري، قال: سألت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقلت: يا رسول الله، إنا بأرض باردة نعالج بها عملا شديدا، وإنا نتخذ شرابا من هذا القمح، نتقوى به على أعمالنا وعلى برد بلادنا، قال: " هل يسكر؟ " قلت: نعم، قال: " فاجتنبوه " قال: ثم جئت من بين يديه، فقلت له مثل ذلك، فقال: " هل يسكر؟ " قلت: نعم، قال: " فاجتنبوه " قلت: إن الناس غير تاركيه، قال: " فإن لم يتركوه فاقتلوهم "
