Hadith 247:1
'Affan narrated to us, Yahya ibn Zurarah al-Sahmi narrated to me, he said: My father narrated to me, from my grandfather al-Harith ibn 'Amr, that he met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage. I said: "May my father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, ask forgiveness for me." He said: "May Allah forgive you all." He said: And he was upon his she-camel, al-'Adba'. He said: So I moved around to the other side, hoping that he would specify me apart from the people, and I said: "Ask forgiveness for me." He said: "May Allah forgive you all." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about the *fara'i'* (firstborns of livestock) and the *ata'ir* (sacrificial animals of Rajab)?" He said: "Whoever wishes may offer a *fara'*, and whoever wishes may not offer a *fara'*; and whoever wishes may offer an *atirah*, and whoever wishes may not offer an *atirah*. In sheep, there is a sacrifice." Then he said: "Verily, your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours."
حدثنا عفان، حدثني يحيى بن زرارة السهمي، قال: حدثني أبي، عن جدي الحارث بن عمرو، أنه لقي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في حجة الوداع، فقلت: بأبي أنت يا رسول الله، استغفر لي، قال: " غفر الله لكم " قال: وهو على ناقته العضباء، قال: فاستدرت له من الشق الآخر، أرجو أن يخصني دون القوم، فقلت: استغفر لي قال: " غفر الله لكم " قال رجل: يا رسول الله الفرائع والعتائر، قال: " من شاء فرع، ومن شاء لم يفرع، ومن شاء عتر، ومن شاء لم يعتر في الغنم أضحية " ثم قال: " ألا إن دماءكم، وأموالكم عليكم حرام، كحرمة يومكم هذا، في بلدكم هذا " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . وقال عفان مرة: حدثني يحيى بن زرارة السهمي، قال: حدثني أبي، عن جده الحارث
