Musnad Ahmad 695:1

Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: ‘Abdullah ibn Ja’far narrated to us, saying: Umm Bakr bint al-Miswar ibn Makhramah narrated to us, from ‘Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi’, from al-Miswar, that Hasan ibn Hasan sent [a messenger] to him to propose to his daughter. He said to him: "Tell him: Let him meet me at the time of the ‘Atamah (late night prayer)." He said: So he met him. Al-Miswar praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "As for what follows: By Allah, there is no lineage, nor tie, nor affinity more beloved to me than your tie and your affinity. However, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Fatimah is a piece of me; what distresses her distresses me, and what gladdens her gladdens me. And indeed, lineages on the Day of Resurrection will be severed, except for my lineage, my tie, and my affinity.' And you have her daughter, and if I were to marry her to you, that would distress her." He said: So he departed, excusing him.
