Musnad Ahmad 1239:0

Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib narrating from al-Muttalib ibn Abi Wada’ah, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Verily, Allah has forgiven my nation for what their souls whisper to them, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it."
