Musnad Ahmad 528:1

Al-Walid ibn Muslim Abu al-Abbas al-Dimashqi narrated to us in Mecca, by dictation, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir narrated to me, he said: Yahya ibn Jabir al-Ta’i, the judge of Homs, narrated to me, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr al-Hadrami narrated to me, from his father, that he heard al-Nawwas ibn Sam’an al-Kilabi say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal one morning. He lowered his voice regarding him and raised it, until we thought he was in the cluster of palm trees. When we went to him, he recognized that in us, so we asked him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, you mentioned the Dajjal this morning, and you lowered your voice and raised it, until we thought he was in the cluster of palm trees." He said: "Other than the Dajjal, I fear more for you than him. If he emerges while I am among you, I am his adversary on your behalf; and if he emerges while I am not among you, then a man is his own adversary, and Allah is my successor over every Muslim. He is a young man, with curly, matted hair, his eye is floating/blind, and he will emerge in a path between Syria and Iraq, then he will cause mischief to the right and to the left. O servants of Allah, remain firm." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is his stay on the earth?" He said: "Forty days: a day like a year, a day like a month, a day like a week, and the rest of his days are like your days." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, that day which is like a year, will the prayer of one day and one night suffice us in it?" He said: "No, estimate its measure." We said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is his speed on the earth?" He said: "Like rain driven by the wind." He said: "He will pass by a people and call them, and they will respond to him. He will command the sky and it will rain, and the earth and it will grow vegetation, and their grazing livestock will return to them in the evening, being at their longest in humps, their fullest in flanks, and their most distended in udders. He will pass by a people and call them, and they will reject his speech, so their wealth will follow him, and they will wake up in drought, having nothing of their wealth. He will pass by the ruin and say to it: 'Bring out your treasures,' and its treasures will follow him like the drones of bees." He said: "He will command a man and he will be killed, striking him with the sword and cutting him into two pieces, the distance of a target. Then he will call him, and he will come to him, his face beaming." He said: "While he is in that state, Allah will send the Messiah, son of Maryam. He will descend at the white minaret in the east of Damascus, wearing two light yellow garments, placing his hands on the wings of two angels. He will follow him and overtake him, and kill him at the eastern gate of Ludd." He said: "While they are in that state, Allah will reveal to Isa ibn Maryam: 'I have brought forth servants of Mine, no one has the power to fight them, so secure My servants to the Mount.' Then Allah will send Gog and Magog, and they are as Allah said: {From every elevation they descend} [Al-Anbiya: 96]. Isa and his companions will beseech Allah, and He will send upon them worms in their necks, and they will wake up dead like the death of a single soul. Then Isa and his companions will descend, and they will not find a house on earth except that it is filled with their stench and foul odor. Isa and his companions will beseech Allah, and He will send birds like the necks of Bactrian camels, which will carry them and throw them where Allah wills." Ibn Jabir said: Yazid ibn Ata al-Saksaki narrated to me, from Ka’b, or someone else, he said: "And they will throw them into the Mahbal." Ibn Jabir said: I said: "O Abu Yazid, and where is the Mahbal?" He said: "The rising place of the sun." He said: "And Allah will send rain that no house of clay or fur will be sheltered from for forty days, and it will wash the earth until it leaves it like a mirror. It will be said to the earth: 'Bring forth your fruit and return your blessing.' On that day, a group will eat from a pomegranate and seek shade under its peel, and blessing will be in the milk, until the milch-camel will suffice a large group of people, the milch-cow will suffice a clan, and the sheep will suffice a household." He said: "While they are in that state, Allah will send a pleasant wind under their armpits, which will take the soul of every Muslim—or he said: every believer—and the worst of people will remain, copulating like donkeys, and upon them—or he said: upon him—the Hour will be established."
