Hadith of Al-Walid ibn Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt (RA)

Hadith 309:1

Fayyad ibn Muhammad al-Raqqi narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Burqan, from Thabit ibn al-Hajjaj al-Kilabi, from Abdullah al-Hamdani, from al-Walid ibn Uqbah, who said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) conquered Makkah, the people of Makkah began bringing their children to him, and he would wipe over their heads and supplicate for them. I was brought to him while I was perfumed with *khuluq* (a type of saffron-based perfume), so he did not wipe over my head. Nothing prevented him from doing so except that my mother had perfumed me with *khuluq*, so he did not touch me because of the *khuluq*."
