Hadith of ‘Amr ibn Kharijah (RA)

حديث عمرو بن خارجة

Hadith 533:2

Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, Sa’id narrated to us, and Yazid ibn Harun said: Sa’id informed us, from Qatadah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam, from ‘Amr ibn Kharijah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered a sermon to us at Mina while he was upon his riding beast, and it was chewing its cud, and its saliva was flowing between my shoulders. He said: "Verily, Allah has allotted to every person his share of the inheritance, so no bequest is permissible for an heir. The child is for the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone. Beware, whoever claims to be the son of someone other than his father, or attaches himself to someone other than his masters, turning away from them, then upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind." Ibn Ja’far said: And Sa’id said: And Matar said: "And neither repentance nor ransom will be accepted from him." Yazid said in his narration: "And neither ransom nor repentance, or repentance nor ransom, will be accepted." Yazid said in his narration: That ‘Amr ibn Kharijah narrated to them that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered a sermon to them while upon his riding beast.
