Hadith of Bashir ibn 'Aqrabah (RA)

حديث بشير بن عقربة

Hadith 272:0

Narrated Bashir ibn 'Aqrabah: I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was sitting, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father was killed on the day of Uhud, and my mother has died, so what is for me?" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Be patient and seek reward." Then he said, "O Bashir, would it please you that I be your father and 'Aishah be your mother?" I said, "Yes, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah." So he (the Prophet) began to wipe my head and said, "O Allah, grant him a substitute for his father and mother."
