Hadith 527:2
'Attab ibn Ziyad narrated to us, he said: Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Sa'id ibn Yazid informed us, he said: 'Ayyash ibn 'Abbas narrated to us, from Shuyaym ibn Baytan, from Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah, he said: I was with Busr ibn Artah, and a person who had stolen a Bactrian camel was brought to him. He said: "Were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbid us from carrying out the [punishment of] amputation during a military expedition, I would have cut off your hand." Then he was flogged, and then he was released.
حدثنا عتاب بن زياد، قال: حدثنا عبد الله، قال: أخبرنا سعيد بن يزيد، قال: حدثنا عياش بن عباس، عن شييم بن بيتان، عن جنادة بن أبي أمية، قال: كنت عند بسر بن أرطاة، فأتي بمصدر قد سرق بختية، فقال: " لولا أني سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهانا عن القطع في الغزو " لقطعتك، فجلد ثم خلي سبيله
