Musnad Ahmad 841:2

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from ‘Asim, who said: I heard Abu Tamimah narrating from the rider behind the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Shu‘bah said, or ‘Asim said: From Abu Tamimah, from a man, from the rider behind the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), who said: The donkey of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stumbled with him, so I said: "May the devil perish!" The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Do not say: 'May the devil perish,' for if you say: 'May the devil perish,' he grows arrogant and says: 'By my strength I threw him down.' But if you say: 'In the name of Allah (Bismillah),' he becomes small until he is like a fly."
