Hadith of Dhu al-Yadayn (RA)

حديث ذي اليدين

Hadith 413:0

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed one of the two afternoon prayers—either Dhuhr or ‘Asr—and he prayed two rak‘ahs, then he said the taslim. Dhu al-Yadayn stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened, or have you forgotten?" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Did Dhu al-Yadayn speak the truth?" The people said: "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and prayed the remaining two rak‘ahs, then he said the taslim, then he performed the prostration of forgetfulness while sitting, and then he said the taslim.
