Hadith of Habis at-Tamimi (RA)

حديث حابس التميمي

Hadith 866:0

Narrated to us by Abdullah, who said: Narrated to us my father, who said: Narrated to us Waki’, from Sufyan, from Habib ibn Abi Amrah, from Abu Wail, from Habis at-Tamimi, who said: I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he was delivering a sermon. I heard him say: "O people, indeed Allah has appointed for every rightful owner his right, so there is no bequest for an heir." And he said: "The child belongs to the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone." And he said: "Whoever claims lineage to other than his father, or attaches himself to other than his masters, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and Allah will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection any obligatory or supererogatory deed."
