Hadith 866:1
Abu Amir narrated to us, Ali—meaning Ibn al-Mubarak—narrated to us, from Yahya, Hayya al-Tamimi narrated to me, that his father informed him that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "There is nothing in the *hamah* (the owl or the belief that it brings bad luck), and the evil eye is true, and the most truthful of omens is *al-fa'l* (optimism)."
حدثنا أبو عامر، حدثنا علي يعني ابن مبارك، عن يحيى، حدثني حية التميمي، أن أباه أخبره، أنه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " لا شيء في الهام، والعين حق، وأصدق الطير الفأل "
