Hadith 866:2
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Harb narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, Hayyah ibn Habis al-Tamimi narrated to me, that his father informed him that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "There is nothing in the *hamah* (the owl/superstition regarding it), and the evil eye is a reality, and the truest of omens is *al-fa'l* (optimism)."
حدثنا عبد الصمد، حدثنا حرب، حدثنا يحيى، حدثني حية بن حابس التميمي، أن أباه، أخبره، أنه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " لا شيء في الهام، والعين حق، وأصدق الطير الفأل "
