Hadith 1298:2
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Sharik ibn Abdullah informed us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Talhah, from his uncle Imran ibn Talhah, from his mother Hamnah bint Jahsh, that she experienced *istihada* (prolonged non-menstrual bleeding) during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. She came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have experienced a severe and strange menstrual bleeding." He said to her: "Stuff it with cotton." She said: "It is more severe than that; I am gushing blood." He said: "Use a pad (bandage), and menstruate for six or seven days every month in the knowledge of Allah, then perform *ghusl* (full ablution), and pray and fast for twenty-three or twenty-four days. Delay the Dhuhr prayer and advance the Asr prayer, and perform *ghusl* for them together. Delay the Maghrib prayer and advance the Isha prayer, and perform *ghusl* for them together. This is the more beloved of the two matters to me."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، قال: أخبرنا شريك بن عبد الله، عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل، عن إبراهيم بن محمد بن طلحة، عن عمه عمران بن طلحة، عن أمه حمنة بنت جحش أنها استحيضت على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأتت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالت: يا رسول الله إني استحضت حيضة منكرة شديدة فقال لها: " احتشي كرسفا " قالت: إنه أشد من ذلك إني أثج ثجا، قال: " تلجمي، وتحيضي في كل شهر في علم الله ستة أيام أو سبعة ثم اغتسلي غسلا، وصلي ، وصومي ثلاثا وعشرين، أو أربعا وعشرين وأخري الظهر وقدمي العصر واغتسلي لهما غسلا، وأخري المغرب وقدمي العشاء واغتسلي لهما غسلا وهذا أحب الأمرين إلي "
