Hadith 946:0
Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from Qatadah, from Abu al-’Aliyah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to Hazzal: "Had you covered him with your garment, it would have been better for you." This was regarding a man who had come to the Prophet (ﷺ) and confessed to committing an act that required a legal punishment (hadd). The Prophet (ﷺ) had previously said to Hazzal: "If you had covered him with your garment, it would have been better for you."
