Hadith 650:1
Isma'il narrated to us, Khalid narrated to us, from Abu al-'Ala' ibn al-Shikhkhir, from his brother Mutarrif, from 'Iyad ibn Himar, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "Whoever finds a lost item, let him have a person of integrity or two people of integrity bear witness to it. Then, let him not conceal it and let him not hide it. If its owner comes, he is more entitled to it; otherwise, it is merely the wealth of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills."
حدثنا إسماعيل، حدثنا خالد، عن أبي العلاء بن الشخير، عن أخيه مطرف، عن عياض بن حمار، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " من التقط لقطة، فليشهد ذا عدل أو ذوي عدل، ثم لا يكتم، ولا يغيب، فإن جاء ربها، فهو أحق بها، وإلا فإنما هو مال الله يؤتيه من يشاء "
