Musnad Ahmad 612:1

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja‘d, from Murrah ibn Ka‘b, or Ka‘b ibn Murrah al-Sulami—Shu‘bah said: Mansur had narrated it to me and mentioned three [intermediaries] between him and Murrah ibn Ka‘b, then he said afterwards: from Mansur, from Salim, from Murrah or from Ka‘b—he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, "Which part of the night is most heard [i.e., most likely to be answered]?" He said: "The last depth of the night." Then he said: "Prayer is accepted until you pray the morning [Fajr] prayer. Then there is no prayer until the sun rises and is the length of a spear or two spears. Then prayer is accepted until the shadow stands the length of a spear. Then there is no prayer until the sun passes the meridian. Then prayer is accepted until you pray the afternoon [‘Asr] prayer. Then there is no prayer until the sun sets." "And when the servant performs ablution and washes his hands, his sins fall out from between his hands. When he washes his face, his sins fall out from his face. When he washes his forearms, his sins fall out from his forearms. And when he washes his feet, his sins fall out from his feet." Shu‘bah said: "And he did not mention wiping the head." "And whatever man frees a Muslim man, it will be his ransom from the Fire; for every limb of his [the freed slave's], a limb of his [the master's] will be recompensed. And whatever Muslim man frees two Muslim women, they will be his ransom from the Fire; for every two limbs of theirs, a limb of his will be recompensed. And whatever Muslim woman frees a Muslim woman, she will be her ransom from the Fire; for every limb of hers, a limb of hers will be recompensed."
