Hadith 996:1
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Zayd, from Abu 'Uthman, from Khalid ibn 'Arfatah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: "O Khalid, there will be events, tribulations, and disagreements after me. If you are able to be the servant of Allah who is killed, not the one who kills, then do so."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، حدثنا حماد بن سلمة، عن علي بن زيد، عن أبي عثمان، عن خالد بن عرفطة قال: قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يا خالد إنها ستكون بعدي أحداث وفتن واختلاف، فإن استطعت أن تكون عبد الله المقتول لا القاتل فافعل "
