Narrated to us by Abd al-Razzaq, who said: Narrated to us Ma’mar, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from Aishah, who said: Khawlah bint Qays ibn Qahd was one of those who offered herself to the Prophet (peace be upon him). She said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have no objection to you." Aishah said: "I said: 'Is there no shame in a woman offering herself to a man?'" She said: "Then the verse was revealed: 'You may defer whom you will of them and take to yourself whom you will' (33:51)." Aishah said: "I said: 'By Allah, I see nothing but that your Lord hastens to satisfy your desires.'"
