Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from Khaythamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman, from his father, who said: I was sitting with ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, and a man came to him and said: "O ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, what is this that you are narrating? You say that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The world is sweet and green, and Allah has made you successors in it, so look at how you act.'" ‘Abdullah said to him: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Verily, the world is sweet and green, and Allah has made you successors in it, so look at how you act, and beware of the world, and beware of women.'"
