Hadith 894:1
Azhar ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Thabit narrated to us, from Abu Imran al-Jawni, who said: Some of the companions of Muhammad narrated to me, and we were on an expedition toward Persia, and he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever spends the night on a roof that has no enclosure (railing), and he falls and dies, then the covenant (of protection) is absolved from him. And whoever boards the sea when it is surging and dies, then the covenant (of protection) is absolved from him."
حدثنا أزهر بن القاسم، حدثنا محمد بن ثابت، عن أبي عمران الجوني، قال: حدثني بعض أصحاب محمد، وغزونا نحو فارس، فقال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " من بات فوق بيت ليست له إجار فوقع فمات، فبرئت منه الذمة، ومن ركب البحر عند ارتجاجه فمات، فقد برئت منه الذمة "
