Hadith 1062:2
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Hisham narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us, from Abu Salamah, Mu'ayqib narrated to me, he said: It was said to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding smoothing in the mosque, meaning the pebbles. He said: "If you must do it, then [do it] once."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، حدثنا هشام، حدثنا يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن أبي سلمة، حدثني معيقيب، قال: قيل للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المسح في المسجد، يعني الحصى، فقال: " إن كنت لا بد فاعلا فواحدة "
