Hadith 198:0
Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja’far, who said: Narrated to us Shu’bah, from Qatadah, from Safwan ibn Muhriz, who said: I was with Ibn ‘Umar when a man came to him and said: "What did you hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say regarding the *Najwa* (private counsel)?" Ibn ‘Umar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "A believer will be brought close to his Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, until He places His screen over him. He will make him confess his sins, saying: 'Do you recognize this sin? Do you recognize that sin?' The man will say: 'Yes, O my Lord.' Until, when he has confessed his sins and sees within himself that he is ruined, Allah will say: 'I concealed them for you in the world, and I forgive them for you today.' Then he will be given the record of his good deeds, or his book. As for the disbelievers and the hypocrites, the witnesses will call out: 'These are the ones who lied against their Lord. Indeed, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.'"
