Hadith 328:2
I read to Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi, from Malik ibn Anas, from Ibn Shihab, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah, from Ibn Abbas, from al-Sa'b ibn Jaththama al-Laythi, that he gifted a wild donkey to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while he was at al-Abwa' or Waddan. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, returned it to him. When he saw what was on my face, he said: "We did not return it to you except that we are in a state of ihram."
قرأت على عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن مالك بن أنس، عن ابن شهاب، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، عن ابن عباس، عن الصعب بن جثامة الليثي، أنه أهدى إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو بالأبواء أو بودان حمارا وحشيا، فرده عليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فلما رأى ما في وجهي قال: " إنا لم نرد عليك إلا أنا حرم "
