Musnad Ahmad 925:3

Abdullah narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ayyub ibn Rashid al-Basri narrated to me, Abd al-Warith narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Jahadah narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Suwayd ibn Ghaflah, from Ubayy ibn Ka’b, who said: I found one hundred dinars during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "Announce it for a year." So I announced it for a year, then I came to him and said: "I have announced it for a year." He said: "Announce it for another year." So I announced it for another year. Then I came to him a third time, and he said: "Keep track of its number, its container, and its tie, and make use of it." *** Bahz narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, (and) Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim ibn al-Hajjaj al-Naji narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Suwayd ibn Ghaflah, who said: I performed Hajj along with Zayd ibn Sawhan and Salman ibn Rabi’ah—and he mentioned the hadith. He said: So I announced it for two or three years. He said: "Keep track of its number, its container, and its tie, and make use of it. Then if its owner comes and identifies its number and its tie, give it to him."
