Hadith 425:0
Narrated Suwayd ibn Hanzalah: We went out intending to go to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). With us was Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab. When we reached Medina, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stayed in a place, and we stayed in another place. Musaylimah went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: "If you make me your successor in this affair, I will follow you." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him, while in his hand was a piece of palm branch: "If you asked me for this piece of palm branch, I would not give it to you. I will not let you go beyond the command of Allah. If you turn back, Allah will surely destroy you. I see what has been shown to me regarding you." Suwayd said: I later heard the words of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about him when he was killed in the battle of al-Yamamah.
