Hadith 684:0
Tariq ibn Shihab reported: A man from the Jews came to Umar ibn al-Khattab and said, "O Commander of the Faithful, there is a verse in your Book which you recite; if it had been revealed to us, the community of the Jews, we would have taken that day as a day of celebration." Umar said, "Which verse is it?" He replied, "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion." (Quran 5:3) Umar said, "I know the day it was revealed and the place where it was revealed. It was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was standing at Arafat on a Friday."
