Hadith 981:2
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Muhammad ibn Jahadah narrated to us, Humayd al-Shami narrated to me, from Sulayman al-Munbahī, from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would travel, the last person he would bid farewell to among his family was Fatimah, and the first person he would visit when he returned was Fatimah. He returned from a military expedition and went to her, but he found a curtain (or screen) at her door, and he saw two silver bracelets on al-Hasan and al-Husayn. So, he turned back and did not enter. When Fatimah saw that, she thought he did not enter because of what he had seen. So, she tore down the curtain and removed the two bracelets from the two boys and cut them. The two boys cried, so she divided them between them and they went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while they were crying. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took them from them and said: "O Thawban, take these to the family of so-and-so, a household in Medina, and buy for Fatimah a necklace of beads and two ivory bracelets; for these are my household, and I do not like for them to consume their good things in their worldly life."
حدثنا عبد الصمد، حدثني أبي، حدثنا محمد بن جحادة، حدثني حميد الشامي، عن سليمان المنبهي ، عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا سافر كان آخر عهده بإنسان من أهله فاطمة، وأول من يدخل عليه إذا قدم فاطمة قال: فقدم من غزاة له فأتاها، فإذا هو بمسح على بابها، ورأى على الحسن والحسين قلبين من فضة، فرجع ولم يدخل عليها. فلما رأت ذلك فاطمة ظنت أنه لم يدخل عليها من أجل ما رأى، فهتكت الستر، ونزعت القلبين من الصبيين فقطعتهما، فبكى الصبيان فقسمته بينهما، فانطلقا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهما يبكيان، فأخذه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم منهما فقال: " يا ثوبان، اذهب بهذا إلى بني فلان أهل بيت بالمدينة، واشتر لفاطمة قلادة من عصب وسوارين من عاج؛ فإن هؤلاء أهل بيتي ولا أحب أن يأكلوا طيباتهم في حياتهم الدنيا "
