Musnad Ahmad 447:1
Hadith of Wathila ibn al-Asqa (RA) "also repeated in the Meccan and Medinan [collections], except for some hadiths which I have established here, while the rest are in the Meccan and Medinan [collections]."
حديث واثلة بن الأسقع " معاد أيضا في المكيين والمدنيين (1) إلا أحاديث منها قد أثبتها هاهنا، وباقيها في المكيين والمدنيين "
Hadith 447:1
Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Awza'i, he said: Rabi'ah ibn Yazid narrated to me, he said: I heard Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' saying: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, came out to us and said: "Do you claim that I am the last of you in death? Nay, I am the first of you in death, and you will follow me in groups, some of you destroying others."
حدثنا أبو المغيرة، قال: سمعت الأوزاعي، قال: حدثني ربيعة بن يزيد، قال: سمعت واثلة بن الأسقع، يقول: خرج علينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: " أتزعمون أني آخركم وفاة، ألا إني من أولكم وفاة، وتتبعوني أفنادا، يهلك بعضكم بعضا "
