Hadith 586:0
Narrated Ya’la ibn Umayyah: I said to Umar ibn al-Khattab: "Why do we shorten the prayer when we are in a state of security, while Allah says: 'If you fear that those who disbelieve may afflict you' (4:101)?" Umar replied: "I wondered about that just as you are wondering, so I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about it. He said: 'It is a charity that Allah has bestowed upon you, so accept His charity.'"
